Jade is one of 3 children. She is 6 years old. Jade was born with Down syndrome, a rare Kidney disease and a hole between the upper chambers of her heart called an Atrial Septal Defect. Jade uses a Ventilator at night on CPAP settings. Jade has endured many medical challenges and procedures including a biopsy last year that diagnosed her with a liver disease. Within the last year, Jade has had 2, week-long hospital stays in the ICU. Over the past few years, Jade has continued to endure numerous medical challenges that have affected her everyday life. Jade has severe deficits in her motor skills, physical abilities, and speech. Jade uses a special device to communicate and loves to say she is brave and strong. Jade receives many outpatient therapies and is seen by many specialists.
